The idea

Scryway grew out of KnowTarot. Its reading engine, journal and offline foundations became the first module of a broader platform. Each practice is a module with its own logic, texts and scoring, and all of them share one account and one journal.

What was built

  • Honest randomness. Draws and casts use the browser’s cryptographic random source. The I Ching simulates the real odds of three coins or of yarrow stalks, and says which one it is using.
  • Practice that cannot be gamed. Remote-viewing targets stay on the server until a session is locked, results are compared with chance, and a ranked mode uses an Elo-style rating.
  • Real astronomy. Natal charts are calculated by a separate service written around the Swiss Ephemeris, published as open source under its AGPL license.
  • One private journal. Every session from every practice lands in the same journal, with optional encryption in the browser.
  • A text library. Public-domain sacred and classical texts, with the source and rights of each one listed.

Decisions worth explaining

Many practices, one product. A module structure lets each practice keep its own logic while sharing accounts, the journal, the design system and the test suite. Adding a practice does not mean rebuilding the site around it.

Licensing kept clean. The Swiss Ephemeris is dual-licensed. Running it as a separate open-source service keeps the AGPL obligations clear and the main application separate.

Status

Scryway is live at scryway.com and open to search engines. It is still in active development, and several practices are at their first stage, so expect it to change.

What this means for your business

The same module structure suits a business that offers several related services and wants them under one login: one customer account, separate tools, one history.
