novoFlight Aviator
An iPhone and iPad app for pilots, flight schools and aircraft owners. Scheduling, flight logs, oil tracking and reminders before inspections come due.
I worked on Aviator as a software developer at ExcelliMatrix, for novoFlight Technologies Inc., as part of a remote team. The app belongs to novoFlight.

The product
Private pilots, flight schools and aircraft owners keep track of bookings, logbooks and maintenance deadlines across paper, spreadsheets and phone calls. Aviator puts those jobs in one app: scheduling pilots, aircraft and instructors, logging flights, tracking engine oil use, requesting services from FBOs, and reminders before oil changes, annual inspections and registration renewals come due.
My part
From January 2023 to September 2024 I was a software developer at ExcelliMatrix and one of the main developers of Aviator through its first App Store release in April 2024.
- Built features in C# and XAML on .NET MAUI, one code base for iPhone and iPad.
- Worked with Azure Cosmos DB on scheduling, flight logs and maintenance records.
- Improved the interface, fixed bugs, and built and tested API integrations.
The app, its design and its business belong to novoFlight Technologies Inc. This page describes only my own contribution.
What it shows
Shipping a commercial mobile app with a distributed team: release cycles through App Store review, records that have to stay correct because the reminders are about aircraft safety, and a product that kept improving after launch.
What this means for your business
If your project needs a phone app, the first question is whether it needs an app at all. A well-built web app that installs to the home screen covers many cases for much less money. When a native app is the right answer, this is the experience of building, testing and releasing one.
